The End

In two days, I'm turning one year older. This is the 5th year of this blog and I do believe it is time to say goodbye.

I started this blog my senior year of college, and I think it documented a good chunk of my life. Xanga, in general, has become very very quiet and I think I've outgrown it. It was a great way to keep in touch with scattered friends, to write embarrassing angsty diary entries, post pictures, share thoughts, and all that. It will be missed.

But I know a lot of you purely through this thing, so I'm not saying goodbye completely. Please visit me at my new digs: http://prattlermo.blogspot.com/ And please leave your comments! I love them.

Bye bye.

I Heart Tacos.

When I first moved back to LA, one of the first things I would like to imagine I did was eat a taco from a taco truck. It was more likely that my face was inserted into a plate of Korean BBQ, but regardless. C discovered the BEST taco truck right near his new house in Eagle Rock. Mmmm carne asada tacos with salsa verde. With a cold can of Squirt. Eating on the porch while it's 70 degrees at 10 pm. Classic LA.

THEN I get this alarming email from my sister about some sick Los Angeles city council person type who wants to make taco trucks ILLEGAL. ILLEEEEEEEEGAL.

I would like to give a shout-out to that woman: F YOU

Taco trucks are one of the few cultural centerpieces of this supremely flawed city. We have no Spring and no public transportation system. Could we please at least have our taco trucks? While I was in Boston, I'd have to eat at this sadass Chipotle-type place called Anna's Taqueria where the guy didn't even know what carne asada was, and then flicked salsa into my eye (no, this really happened).

Anyway, I signed some petition trying to shut this lady up but apparently the law passed. So now when I get a taco from some guy trying to make a living by making me sublimely happy, I am doing something illegalish.

LAME.

I'm going to keep going to those taco trucks.

Just Like Yesterday

Spent the weekend in beautiful San Francisco with UCSD pals Lily, Nicole, and Celeste. Nicole graduated from UCSF's School of Pharmacy (she's a docta' now!) and her parents graciously paid for our stay at a sweet hotel near Union Square. I hadn't been to SF in almost four years and I forgot what a nice, compact, diverse, walkable city it is. It's like Boston--but with real, live minorities! And more rich people!

Lily and I met up with Dana on Friday, and ate at this delicious place called Burma Superstar. Yes. We waited 2 hours but so what? So delicious. Mm. Eggplant. While waiting we were able to spend time looking at the various (potentially illegal) fish at this little flower shop/aquarium and then spent a blissful hour or so at this adorable bookstore called the Green Apple Bookstore. Creaky and filled to the brim with books--perfect.

Saturday was Nicole's graduation and it was...very long. But we survived and took the requisite 100 photos at the reception. The rest of the day included shopping downtown, a fancy yummy graduation dinner with Nicole and 30 of her friends and relatives, and then...clubbing. Yes, clubbing. After all, this was Nicole's graduation. It was good times even if Celeste, Lily, and I had to bail out around midnight because our joints were getting creaky.

Sunday we lounged around the hotel--watching the Celtics game and packing. Then met up with Nicole's family for yet another yummy meal at the hotel restaurant. We said our goodbyes and many thanks and then took a crappy Southwest flight home.

In sum:

- I always eat the best food in SF.
- Nicole and Celeste are exactly the same as they were 5 years ago. Except Celeste is not a Republican anymore.
- It is always cold and windy in SF.
- Forgot something at home? Lily has it.
- All graduations are coma-inducing.
- Hot dogs off the street are always delicious.

Pretty Accurate. Minus the "Shining" Part.

You Are An ENFJ
The Giver

You strive to maintain harmony in relationships, and usually succeed.
Articulate and enthusiastic, you are good at making personal connections.
Sometimes you idealize relationships too much - and end up being let down.
You find the most energy and comfort in social situations ... where you shine.

In love, you are very protective and supporting.
However, you do need to "feel special" - and it's quite easy for you to get jealous.

At work, you are a natural leader. You can help people discover their greatest potential.
You would make a good writer, human resources director, or psychologist.

How you see yourself: Trusting, idealistic, and expressive

When other people don't get you, they see you as: Bossy, inappropriate, and loud
